USOC Picks REIT Exec For New Position Ahead Of Rio Games

The Colorado Springs-based US Olympic Committee has tapped Highwoods Properties SVP Kevin Penn to fill its newly created chief of business operations position. He will report to USOC CEO Scott Blackmun starting July 8, just ahead of the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, which start Aug. 5.

Kevin will be responsible for audit, business intelligence, facilities, finance, human resources, information technology, security and strategic planning, according to the Denver Business Journal. Highwoods is a Raleigh, NC-based REIT; Kevin has worked there 18 years. [DBJ]
