Denver is one of the top places in the country to work for a small business, according to WalletHub, coming in at No. 12 out of the largest metros (metro Charlotte was first, and Colorado Springs was No. 43). The company used 11 metrics to create the rankings, ranging from net small business job growth and industry variety to earnings for small business employees. We're No. 8 when it comes to overall "economic environment," and not too bad when it comes to "small business environment" (No. 21). A healthy job market, and thus real estate activity, doesn't just depend on the big employers (Lockheed Martin, say) but also on the countless small businesses and their ability to attract new talent.
