KBS Acquires Carillon Tower For $147M

KBS Real Estate Investment Trust III has closed on its $147M acquisition of the 476k SF Carillon Tower at 227 W Trade St in Uptown. At the time the deal was struck, the building was 92% leased. Florida-based Kessler Collection, a hospitality specialist, purchased a roughly half-acre site next to the Carillon building last September, and plans a Grand Bohemian Hotel on the site that will be finished by 2018, the Charlotte Business Journal reports. KBS tapped Trinity Partners to lease Carillon. [CBJ]
