BB&T Reups At BB&T Center

BB&T inked a renewal at its namesake building in Uptown, taking 120k SF at the BB&T Center at 200 South College, compared with the 140k SF it previously occupied. The bank has been re-evaluating its real estate requirements in Charlotte's urban core, eventually coming to the conclusion that it doesn't need as much space, the Charlotte Business Journal reports.

BB&T Center, which is owned by LA-based CIM Group, is 74% leased. Spectrum Properties, which oversees leasing at the building, says it signed more than 80k SF of deals there this summer. That includes an expanded footprint for the University of South Carolina's Darla Moore School of Business. [CBJ]
