Palo Alto, Calif.-based Electric Power Research Institute recently bought a 107k SF building at 1200 West W.T. Harris Blvd. in Charlotte from Verbatim Corp. for $5M. The flex building was built in 1984 at University Research Park and was purchased as an investment, company officials say. Other businesses operating in the park include SPEED Channel, TIAA-CREF, IBM, AT&T, Bellsouth, Duke Energy and Merck. Triad Commercial Properties' Kevin Kempand Tom Townes repped the buyer. Walters Commercial Real Estate's Norman Walters repped Verbatim.

Romans Properties' Chris Orr recently brokered the $2.1M sale of an 11k SF building leased by Fresenius Medical of North America at 2125 Adams Grove Road in Columbia, SC. Chris repped the seller, Rea Investments Inc. Chris also recently brokered a 4k SF lease renewal and expansion at 5970 Fairview Road for CCCI, an IT professional services firm. Chris repped CCCI, and AAC?s Cooper Burton repped the landlord.
