Metro Charlotte's the No. 1 place in the country to work for a small business, according to WalletHub, topping the list of the 100 largest metros for its "small business environment." The company used 11 metrics to create the rankings, ranging from net small business job growth and industry variety to earnings for small business employees. Greater Raleigh was No. 2 overall (because NC has what it takes, clearly). A healthy job market, and thus real estate activity, doesn't just depend on the big employers (Bank of America, say) but also on the countless small businesses and their ability to attract new talent.
