This section of West Morehead Street defines drab, but Charlotte city planners hope to begin this summer inviting bids for about $2Min streetscape improvements. The goal is to make the street more appealing to new development by creating a pedestrian-friendly, and presumably more attractive, environment. A previous streetscape program along Morehead from Freedom Drive to I-77 won rave reviews. It's also been credited in part with attracting Pinky?s Westside Grille (remember the Penguin?), for people who like their pickles fried.
