Oh, Beautiful?

This section of West Morehead Street defines drab, but Charlotte city planners hope to begin this summer inviting bids for about $2Min streetscape improvements. The goal is to make the street more appealing to new development by creating a pedestrian-friendly, and presumably more attractive, environment. A previous streetscape program along Morehead from Freedom Drive to I-77 won rave reviews. It's also been credited in part with attracting Pinky?s Westside Grille (remember the Penguin?), for people who like their pickles fried. The improvements should be completed before year end, says Charlotte planner Kent Main.
