Charlotte's national profile is maturing, having built a reputation as a top US banking and energy center and more recently capturing the 2012 Democratic National Convention. (The other cities in contention have already begun explaining why they're better off not hosting.) But the one who brung us here may feel a little battered and bruised right now. Seems Charlotte's NASCAR-revved image is no longer the first thing people think of when they picture the Queen City, a recentCharlotte Chamber survey found. Evidently motorsports take a distant second behind banking. So much for our critics. Still, ?That's Bankin?? doesn?t have quite the same ring to it. |
