HOW YOU CAN SHAPE TRANSIT . . .

The NC Department of Transportation wants you to help plan North Carolina?s future transportation system. (Sounds more promising than "You may already be a winner.") The state is seeking public participation   in developing an updated Statewide Transportation Plan, aka the 2040 Plan. The NCDOT wants to look ahead 25 to 30 years to identify the state's transportation needs. The 2040 Plan will serve as a blueprint for transportation planning and investment over the next three decades, encompassing everything from highways, passenger and freight rail, public transportation, bike lanes, aviation, ferries, and pedestrian walkways (and hovercraft?). Check out thislink to answer a brief survey. The NCDOT says it will use the results to help develop the 2040 Plan and create the investment strategy to fulfill it. (We say private helicopters. Or dinosaurs. It's good we don't make decisions.)
