Developer Smoky Bissell and wife Margaret (foreground) were among the roughly 90 people on hand recently for a ceremonial groundbreaking to usher in Ballantyne?s latest tenant, American Honda Finance Corp. Honda will employ about 125 folks out of the new, 25k SF building now under construction at Ballantyne Corporate Park, Smoky told the crowd gathered under some very blue Carolina skies. A development cost was not released. (We'll wager it was a lot, judging by the expressions from the people we asked.) A wholly owned subsidiary of American Honda Motor Co, the companyfinances Hondas, Acuras, and their accessories, as well as Honda motorcycles, power equipment, and marine products.
