HONDA REVS UP IN BALLANTYNE

Developer Smoky Bissell and wife Margaret (foreground) were among the roughly 90 people on hand recently for a ceremonial groundbreaking to usher in Ballantyne?s latest tenant, American Honda Finance Corp. Honda will employ about 125 folks out of the new, 25k SF building now under construction at Ballantyne Corporate Park, Smoky told the crowd gathered under some very blue Carolina skies. A wholly owned subsidiary of American Honda Motor Co, the companyfinances HondasAcuras, and their accessories, as well as Honda motorcycles, power equipment, and marine products. The building should be ready for occupancy by early 2012. Barry Fabyan repped project developer The Bissell Cos. Tim Vaughan of CBRE's Torrence, Calif. office repped Honda with local assistance from Trinity Partners' Brian Brtalik.
