GATEWAY OPENS DOOR TO MATTHEWS

BrookChase Properties expects by July 1 to complete construction on Matthews Gateway, a $14M, 6.4-acre mixed-use development in downtown Matthews. The project incorporates more than 22k SF

of retail and restaurant space, 8,500k SF of medical offices, and

54 loft-style apartments. The residential units range from 650 to 950 SF and lease for $750 to $1,080 per month. Developer Garry Smith says the project attempts to replicate ?the by-gone days of southern towns.? The project is within walking distance of Matthews Town Hall

and the Matthews Public Library, as well as other shops and restaurants. Tenants so far: Fresenius Medical Care, a kidney dialysis company, and specialty shoe store Foot Solutions.
