| Warrior Custom Golf has acquired its fifth Carolina golf course, the Whispering Woods Golf Club about 80 miles east of Charlotte (as the golf ball flies, provided you've got a Superman-like stroke). The California company, according to director of investor relations Walter Bolen, is looking to extend its market penetration in the Carolina market, which has lush, interesting terrain, and a climate that golfers are fond of. "Whispering Woods has upside potential for rounds played and revenue growth," Walter says. (All work and no golf make Jack a dull executive, after all.) With the acquisition, its price undisclosed, the company is getting an 18-hole, par 70 course by Ellis Maples, renowned golf course designer in the Southeast who did about 70 courses during his lifetime. |
