CAPSTONE TO REVAMP STUDENT HOUSING

Capstone Apartment Partners has brokered the sale of Northampton Plaza, a 155-unit, mid-rise student housing apartment complex in Chapel Hill. Sales price was not disclosed. The complex is two blocks from Franklin Street near UNC?s main campus. Capstone?s Andrew Klenk, along with Brian Ford and Beau McIntosh of the firm's Charlotte office, repped the unidentified seller. The buyer was Birmingham, Ala.-based Capstone Real Estate Investments (unaffiliated with Capstone Apartment Partners). CREI plans to rebrand the complex as ?University Apartments,? and upgrade unit interiors, improve the building's exterior and add amenities that include a fitness center, commons area, and on-site bicycle storage(skateboard storage wouldn't hurt either).
