The first-ever attempt to gauge Charlotte's confidence in its business climate will launch later this month. Local business booster and Chamber arm BusinessFirst, with the UNC Charlotte Urban Institute and others, plans to ask 500 area businesses their opinions about hiring, sales expectations, profits, and other industry benchmarks. Participants in what is being called the Charlotte Confidence Indexare being sought now. The survey will be conducted Feb. 28 and results made public in late March.
