BECO PARKING DECK BREAKS GROUND

We snapped a quick pic while hangliding the other day. The Charlotte office of Atlanta-based Choate Construction Co has started building the $11.2M North Parking Deck at BECO South?s Innovation Park in University City. The three-level deck (digitally represented in foreground) will contain 1,200 spaces. Completion is scheduled for year's end, Choate?s Emily Choate tells us. It also will include three stair towers, and two elevators. In keeping with BECO?s green themes, the sprawling business park?s tenants will also be provided with 10 electric car charging stations. A two-level bridge will connect the deck to the main park atrium. SAA Architecture designed the structure.
