APPLIANCE KING BETS ON CHARLOTTE

Electrolux Home Products based in Stockholm plans a $14M, 63k SF US HQ expansion at 10200 David Taylor Dr that's expected to add 200 jobs over the next four years, Electrolux US CEO KevinScott announced this week. Plans come just over a year after the company consolidated its North American operations here andrescues some jobs from going overseas. (Sorry, Sweden. We'll make it up to you.) Annual salaries will be about $90k, or about double the countywide average. Electrolux is a leading manufacturer of appliances for home and professional uses, including freezers, washers and dryers, vacuum cleaners, and dishwashers. It also makes vending machine equipment used in laundries and in food service. (We always wondered where those coin-ops came from.)
