Universal Forest Products, a manufacturer of wood and wood alternatives, will expand in Salisbury, adding about 50 jobs and investing $2.6M over the next three years. The project was made possible in part by an $85k grant from the state's One North Carolina Fund. The average annual wage for the new jobs will be more than $37k, compared to the Rowan County average of $36k. ?Helping to grow existing North Carolina employers is a key part of our job-creation strategy,? says Gov. Bev Perdue. UFPI?s products serve the retail, construction, manufactured housing, and industrial markets.
