Discount home goods store Tuesday Morning is moving its Ellicott City store to a new location, taking up a portion of the shuttered Mars Super Markets store.
The nearly 11K SF shop will open early 2018 in the St. John's Plaza on Route 40, according to a release. Tuesday Morning will move from the Normandy Business Center to a strip mall that contains a Rite Aid, SECU Credit Union, Tropical Smoothie Cafe and Chipotle.
The new store will reflect the retailer's latest prototype, with new fixtures, flooring, better lighting and a redesigned store layout. The store will also have an expanded assortment of home goods merchandise.
Mars closed eight stores last year, including the Ellicott City shop that anchored St. John's Plaza, amid an increasingly competitive grocery landscape. While many retailers are struggling, a number of discount chains are bucking the trend.
