The board of the Maryland Historical Society will issue a bid this spring to lease three empty properties as it seeks to shore up its finances.
Totaling 49,300 SF, the vacant properties includes the former Greyhound bus terminal, which was most recently used by production crews for Veep and House of Cards, the Baltimore Business Journal reports. The nonprofit also wants to lease the Enoch Pratt, at Monument Street and Park Avenue, the former mansion of a wealthy Baltimore merchant that was erected in the 19th century. Also up for bid is a three-story building at Monument and Howard streets.
Located in the Mount Vernon neighborhood in Baltimore City, the museum draws 125,000 visitors a year and has weathered financial losses after a drop in attendance following the Freddie Gray riots in April 2015 and a drop in demand for event rentals. [BBJ]
