Lexington Market has hired Whiting-Turner and Baltimore's Mahogany Inc for construction management services as the 233-year-old food market preps for a $27M redevelopment plan. The overhaul includes making the market more pedestrian-friendly, adding an outdoor farmers market, new local food tenants, and adding stepped-up security, the Baltimore Business Journal reports. Market officials haven't set a timeline, as the project still needs funding, which will come from private, public and foundation sources and a capital campaign. [BBJ]
