KBE Building Corp CEO Michael Kolakowski reports that construction is almost completed on the Joint Commissary & Naval Exchange near the Naval Academy. Owned by the Defense Commissary Agency and managed by Parsons, the project cost $28M for 149K SF of new construction (LEED certification is in the works, too) expected to deliver in June. The commissary will include a retail sales area, nonperishable and refrigerated food storage, and admin areas. In addition to the commissary, the Navy Exchange will provide a barbershop, beauty shop, jewelry store, optical shop, retail sales area, food court, admin offices, operational support areas, and a garden center.
