We've been making fun of Birmingham (so small!) almost as long as they've been trash-talking Atlanta (that traffic!). The Piedmont Alliance for Quality Growth aims to get us southern cities working together. The group kicks off its fourth meeting tomorrow at noon in Macon. Topics include multi-state transportation, water and energy. Georgia Tech professor Harry West says, ?There are economic linkages between these metropolitan areas that are becoming increasingly important as we compete globally.?
