Retail And Entertainment Planned Adjacent To The Queen Mary In Long Beach

New retail and entertainment is coming to the area surrounding the Queen Mary in Long Beach.

The lease agreement for the Queen Mary has just been transferred to Urban Commons. The real estate firm plans to develop retail and entertainment options on the property surrounding the tourist attraction as well as restore the ship.

The project will be developed in phases with initial upgrades to the Queen Mary, including the ship's guest rooms and restaurants, according to Urbanize LA. The upgrades are scheduled to be completed by mid-2017.

The ship will be open during the renovations. The second phase will include dining, retail and entertainment built on 45 oceanfront acres near the ship. [ULA]
