H-E-B Eyeing Upper Kirby Location Across From Whole Foods In Dense Grocery Market

H-E-B is in the due diligence phase of purchasing a property at the northwest corner of West Alabama and Kirby. H-E-B Houston President Scott McClelland told the Houston Chronicle the company is under contract for the property across from Whole Foods. Additional details were not provided.

The property is within a two-mile radius of 11 other grocery stores: two other H-E-Bs, a Central Market (owned by H-E-B), Whole Foods, Costco, Trader Joe's, two Randalls and three Krogers. Earlier this year, The Giorgetti luxury mid-rise announced it would be breaking ground on the tract across Steel Street from the site.

H-E-B could not be reached for comment.
