Regency Centers Corp and CDC Houston's The Market at Springwoods Village has set a groundbreaking date for Phase 2 and announced its major tenant. Kroger will anchor the 170k SF project, which will begin construction this month and open in spring 2017. Regency originally planned to build nearly 400k SF in one fell swoop but Regency Centers VP Abe Pacetti tells Bisnow that it'll now be done in two phases totaling about 350k SF. Phase 2 is being marketed now.

The center be the first grocery-anchored development in Springwoods Village, the $10B master planned mixed-use community that’s home to ExxonMobil, Southwestern Energy and CHI St. Luke’s Medical Campus. The Market at Springwoods Village will have a mix of retail, dining and grocery. Other amenities include outdoor patios, mature landscaping and convenient parking. The Kroger will be 100k SF, and offer pharmacy and fuel services.
