Construction Begins on 150k SF Costco in Humble

Costco is continuing its rapid expansion in the Houston area and has started construction on a new store in Humble.

The new 150k SF store will be at Townsen Boulevard and Interstate 69. Construction is expected to be completed in Q1 2016, the Houston Business Journal reports. The Humble City Council approved an infrastructure agreement with the retailer this past summer.

This will be the eighth Houston-area location for Washington-based Costco. Others include a 157k SF facility in Sugar Land, a 152k SF store in Katy and a 153k SF location in The Woodlands. A 150k SF store in Pearland is scheduled to open this month. [HBJ]
