Hotel Mania

The hotel industry is being rocked by changes—competition from Airbnb, proliferation of brands and independents facilitated by the likes of Expedia, new styles, levels of service, and boutiques. That's why we're excited to welcome numerous industry titans to our big annual Bisnow national, multi-day hotel event that starts tomorrow at the huge new DC Marriott Marquis.

Thayer Lodging Group founder Fred Malek (left, receiving an award from Bill Marriott) will be among our opening keynotes; his firm owns hotels from the Ritz in San Fran to Virginia's own Marriott Fairview Park. Trump Hotels COO Jim Petrus, who's transforming DC's Old Post Office into the city's next ultra-luxury hotel, will follow.

Many other CEOs will be on hand, for example from LaSalle Hotels (that's company chief Mike Barnello above at our event last year), Lowe Hospitality, Diamondrock Hospitality, OTO Development, Interstate Hotels, and others. We're also thrilled to welcome Quadrangle president Chris Gladstone, developer and co-owner of the glistening new Marriott Marquis.

Political pundit Tucker Carlson opens the show tomorrow at noon, and tomorrow evening we'll have live dance music at our first day's opulent cocktail reception, then another whole set of panels the next day. You'd think we were a luxury hotel nightclub ourselves. More info.
