Tentative Approval Granted To $52M Port Of Oakland Expansion Project

Placeholder

Port commissioners gave initial approval to a $52M expansion plan at the Port of Oakland Thursday night. The project will create the largest distribution facility along the West Coast, KTVU reports. The 440K SF logistics center is the first phase of the Seaport Logistics Complex, which would eventually span 180 acres at the former Oakland Army base. This project will be at Maritime Street near Oakland’s Outer Harbor.

This latest agreement tasks CenterPoint Properties with developing the property. The port has been undergoing significant redevelopment within the last few years. Prologis is working on the Oakland Global Logistics Center nearby.

Port commissioners will officially vote on the project Nov. 30. If approved, this project would break ground during Q1.
