The Wharf Signs Mexican-Born NYC Chef For 9,500 SF Waterfront Restaurant

The Wharf has added another restaurant to the vast retail roster set to open this fall when Phase 1 of the megaproject delivers.

Chef Roberto Santibañez will open Mexican restaurant Mi Vida this November in 9,500 SF on the water's edge. The restaurant, next to the 6,000-seat concert venue dubbed The Anthem, will seat up to 400 and include an outdoor patio and private dining rooms. Knead Hospitality + Design will design and operate the space.

Santibañez is the owner of New York City's Fonda restaurants. A Mexico City native, his menu will be a take on the city's famous cuisine featuring chicken, beef and pork dishes.

"We are delighted to welcome Mi Vida to The Wharf," Madison Marquette chairman Amer Hammour said in a release, "especially with the inspired cuisine of its noted chef Roberto Santibañez, who is well known for creating refined Mexican cuisine with broad popular appeal."

Madison Marquette and PN Hoffman are co-developing The Wharf, the second-biggest development in the country, behind New York City's Hudson Yards. The other culinary offerings at The Wharf will include the French Mediterranean restaurant La Vie, Fabio Trabocchi's Spanish and Seafood restaurant Del Mar, Mike Isabella's Requin, Hank's On The Water, Rappahannock Oyster Bar and Kirwan’s Waterfront Pub.
