Luciano D’Iorio is bullish on Montreal. “I’ve never been so positive about this city,” Cushman & Wakefield’s new Quebec managing director said. D’Iorio is the former president of Terramont Real Estate Services and is also co-founder of Tiny Survivors, a fundraiser for Royal Victoria Hospital’s neonatal intensive care unit. He is looking to recruit brokers to bulk up Cushman's Quebec forces. “We want to continue to have the best-in-class team and a culture of high performers here.” The goal: grab more Quebec market share, with a particular focus on industrial and capital investment.

"There’s a lot of growth potential in the province, Montreal especially,” D'Iorio said. “I’ve been in the business 18 years and never seen as many cranes as I do now in this city.” One key development is Quad Windsor, a $2B JV between Cadillac Fairview, Canderel and Fonds immobilier de solidarité FTQ. It will comprise nearly 5M SF of office, residential and retail, and includes Tour Deloitte, the city's first privately owned and financed commercial office tower built in over 20 years. “Cadillac Fairview had retreated themselves from the market,” D’Iorio said. “Now they’re back, which speaks to a renewed confidence in Montreal and Quebec.”
