Walmart Unveils 12 New Canadian SuperCentres

Today Walmart marks the grand opening of 12 new SuperCentres across Canada (including a location in Ottawa), one week after launching its 300th SuperCentre in Beauport, QC, as part of a national expansion plan announced last year. The openings bring Walmart Canada’s total nationwide store count to 400, including 312 SuperCentres and 88 discount stores. The 15 new SuperCentres—offering close to 120,000 products, including a full grocery, pharmacy, garden centre and medical centre—represent an investment of $100M-plus and have generated 700 new store jobs, the company said.
