Erin Mills Town Centre’s makeover continues, and mall rep Ruby Fruitman sent us a few shots of its new and improved main entrance. “As you can see," she says, "it’s very modern, with lots of glass, an abundance of light and a fabulous dome sphere that can be seen for miles around." Work is well underway on the new food court—with two floors of vendors and restaurants and a top-level patio—which will open next spring.
Erin Mills Town Centre hadn’t been renovated since the 850k SF property—owned by Ontario Pension Board—opened in 1989. The $100M makeover is aimed at luring new customers and “aspirational brand” retailers to the mall—growing better, but not bigger. Upgrades include a new centre court, with infinity pool and the aforementioned 283-foot glass sphere, replacing the mall’s iconic clock tower (seen in this old shot of EMTC).
