Toronto’s Building Owners and Managers Association has joined forces with Toronto Hydro to relaunch race2reduce, a challenge to the GTA’s commercial real estate sector to reduce energy consumption.
Announced Tuesday at the Toronto-Dominion Centre, the campaign is hoping for a minimum 10% collective reduction over the next three years. A similar campaign in 2011 saw 200 registered buildings reduce their energy consumption by 12%.
Over 80 buildings have already registered for the 2017 challenge.
