Starbucks is closing all of its La Boulange bakery cafes by the end of September. The coffee behemoth is not completely abandoning the brand since it will sell La Boulange food at its own shops. The French-themed bakery sold homemade granola, organic bread and flank steak sandwiches, and was acquired by Starbucks in 2012 for $100M. According to Starbucks, the separate chain doesn't fit in its long-term growth patterns, Bloomberg reports. Most of La Boulange’s locations are in San Francisco. [Bloomberg]
