Rockpoint, Swig Plan Major Oakland Repositioning

Rockpoint Group and The Swig Co have recapitalized the ownership of Oakland's Kaiser Center. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The 975k SF office complex at 300 Lakeside Dr in downtown Oakland contains a 28-story Class-A office tower with around 845k SF and two low-rise retail and office buildings (totaling about 130k SF) that include a new co-working location.

The JV plans to reposition the complex, including major renovations to the lobbies, common corridors, landscaping and retail amenities. We chatted with Swig CEO Ken Perry recently about the company's expanding portfolio.
