WeWork is taking three floors at San Francisco's Salesforce Tower, expanding the co-working firm's footprint by about 75K SF.
The news confirms reports from earlier this year that the company was in talks to lease space at San Francisco's tallest tower.
Boston Properties, which owns Salesforce Tower in a JV with Hines, is WeWork's largest landlord in the world, according to Boston Properties Senior Project Manager Aaron Fenton, who broke the news to attendees at a Bisnow event this morning that WeWork had inked the lease.
WeWork already has 14 locations in the San Francisco Bay Area.
Salesforce Tower's largest tenant, Salesforce, increased its lease by 149K SF during Q2, growing its lease to a total of 881K SF in the tower when it takes occupancy in early 2018. As of the end of Q2, Salesforce Tower was about 82% leased.
