Meridian's Latest Venture

Meridian Property Co will break ground tomorrow on a new outpatient center in downtown San Rafael at 1415 Third St. The 10,500 SF medical clinic will serve the residents that live in close proximity to downtown. COO John Pollock tells us the Affordable Care Act has created an opportunity for systems and providers to look at ways to more effectively and efficiently use their real estate assets to drive cost out of the system while improving patient outcomes. (Now you can back to the doctor and stop taking that weird herbal drink your aunt keeps bringing over.) He says the San Rafael project is a great example of bringing together the right team of entitlement specialists, designers, architects, engineers, contractors, and capital partners to deliver sufficient space in challenging urban in-fill locations (where healthcare services are under served or existing facilities don't meet the needs of providers).
