Why Scripps Health is Consolidating in Rancho Bernardo

In a move that could eventually bring 900 Scripps Health employees under one roof, the firm has taken a former JPMorgan Chase Home Loan office building out of play in Rancho Bernardo.

The healthcare company purchased 10790 Rancho Bernardo Rd, a 131k SF office building just west of I-15 in a move that brings several business services under one roof. The building, now called Scripps Business Services, 4S Ranch, will be home to 675 employees, and Scripps Health officials say more units will move in from various buildings in Sorrento Valley, potentially putting as many as 900 employees in the building.

Scripps Health CFO Richard Rothberger says the move allows for more efficiency among the divisions, with “shared resources and better collaboration,” in addition to reducing real estate costs. The firm is expected to start moving in by late summer.
