Bixby's First Tenant at AERO Is...

Fresh from delivering a renovated Kearny Mesa office building, Bixby Land Co has landed its debut tenant. Berkley Insurance Co has inked a deal for 23,500 SF—the entire second floor—of AERO, relocating from Mission Valley. Details on the eight-year deal at the former San Diego FBI HQ were not disclosed. The deal culminates what Bixby CEO Bill Halford (on right with Allen Matkins' Peter Roth and PMI Properties' Jeff Palmer) hinted to us earlier this week about 9797 Aero Dr—that it had a full-floor deal pending. Bixby invested in excess of $10M to completely renovate and reposition the building, focused on creative and boutique office users in the area.
