As Bixby Land finishes its redo of the former San Diego FBI HQ, it looks to other area projects to continue its growth. Bixby CEO Bill Halford tells us it's already begun work on The Oberlin, a three-building, 58,700 SF campus formerly known as Mira Mesa Business Park. Bill (on right with Allen Matkins' Peter Roth and PMI Properties' Jeff Palmer) also says Bixby will complete the 405k SF The Quad at Tasman project in Northern Cali by Christmas, while the firm also develops another 260k SF project in Irvine.

In the meantime, Bixby has delivered the renovations to 9797 Aero Dr, the 96,500 SF former FBI HQ in Kearney Mesa and has tapped Colliers International to market the space. “We  have a full-floor lease out for signature, and have good  interest from a variety of tenants,” Bill says of the four-story project. Bixby acquired it in 2014 for $12.5M, pumping another $10M into its transformation from a federal agency complex to an upscale office project. “We intentionally repositioned the building to create a brand-new work environment for companies. In our minds the project needed to go in a completely new direction,” Bill says.
