CABRINI CLOSES

SKI Realty, an affiliate of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, has finally closed on the $83.1M transaction to buy the former Cabrini Medical Center at 217 E. 19th St.
MSKCC intends to renovate and convert the 455-bed hospital, which ceased operations in March ’08, into an outpatient care center. The complex extends half a city block and is comprised of four buildings totaling nearly 454k SF. The largest structure, the 17-story purpose-built hospital (pictured) encompasses nearly 300k SF of the property. Grubb & Ellis’ Vincent Carrega, Neil Helman, and Frank Mancini, Togut Segal & Segal’s Frank Oswald, and Garfunkel Wild’s Burton Weston and Sean Leyden repped Cabrini in transaction, while Newmark Knight Frank’s Mark Weiss and Paul, Weiss’ Allen Wieder repped MSKCC.
