Restaurateur David Machado is opening a new restaurant in the Pearl District this summer, after inking a 5K SF lease at the Pearl District Hampton Inn & Suites, which will open soon. The concept of the new place, called Tanner Creek Tavern after the creek that runs under the Pearl, has yet to be announced, the Portland Business Journal reports.
The general outline of the restaurant is set: it will include a dining room, lounge and bar, along with two private dining rooms and seasonal seating outside. Design elements will include concrete, steel, glass, Douglas Fir beams and tile.
Machado's most recent new restaurants were Altabira and Citizen Baker, opening in the Hotel Eastlund in 2015, and he is perhaps best known for Downtown's Nel Centro.
