Voit Real Estate Restructures, Creates Broker-Owned Firm

Southern California-based Voit Real Estate Services has been restructured to create a broker-owned company and has appointed a new executive team, including newly appointed CEO Eric Hinkelman, and installed a new board of directors to lead the company in this forward-thinking direction.

Voit’s Mike Hefner, an EVP in the Anaheim office and a board member, tells Bisnow the new structure is a strategic move to create a commercial powerhouse by refocusing Voit solely on core brokerage services.

The company’s new structure and focus comes on the heels of a buyout by the firm’s shareholders of founder and former CEO Bob Voit. “This is a natural progression in ownership to preserve the culture of our company,” Mike says, noting that Bob relinquished his position as Voit’s leader last September, but retained his seat as chairman of the board of directors.

Under the new structure, Voit provides limited partnership interests to individual brokers. “Our brokers will have a personal stake in the company, which differentiates us from our competitors and allows Voit professionals to flourish in a strategic, client-centric environment,” Mike says.

He noted Voit closed its offices in Phoenix, Sacramento and Las Vegas to focus on providing brokerage services in its core SoCal markets, which includes Irvine, Anaheim, San Diego, Ontario and the South Bay. Without the distraction of funding remote operations and other services, our brokers can identify client needs and best allocate resources to serve them, Mike tells us.

Voit aligned with OC-based RiverRock Real Estate Group, a Western US property management company, which will assume Voit’s property management business. In order to provide clients a global reach, the company also has an established strategic alliance with CORFAC, an international network of brokerage service providers.

Other newly appointed board members include: Randy LaChance, San Diego SVP; Mitch Zehner, Anaheim EVP; Frank Geraci, Inland Empire EVP; Trent Walker, Irvine EVP; and Seth Davenport, Anaheim SVP.
