Nearly a year after the announcement was made, the 180k SF Fulton Transit Center will begin opening this fall. Westfield and the MTA have revealed that about 20 stores, ranging from retail and service to restaurants, will open through 2016. The retail will take up roughly 40k SF, surrounding the upper floors of a four-story atrium. Westfield signed a lease with the MTA in 2013 and paid the Port Authority $800M for full control of the WTC retail. MTA spokesman Adam Lisberg told NY YIMBY that Westfield is in the advanced stages of leasing, designing and outfitting the spaces. Westfield manages the leasing for 365k SF of retail at 3 WTC, 4 WTC and the Fulton Transit Center. [NYY]
