| ConEdison Solutions CEO Jorge Lopez, Community Energy CEO Brent Alderfer, City Council speaker Christine Quinn, and Chelsea Piers co-founder David Tewksbury were on hand for the celebration, lighting a ceremonial green apple. (Will the city eventually be re-nicknamed “The Big Green Apple” with all its sustainable initiatives?) Chelsea Piers alone offsets 13.6k metric-tons of greenhouse gas emissions, equal to taking 2,850 cars off the road or planting 12,250 acres of trees. |
