Despite saying numerous times that his campaign is self-funded, a pro-Trump super PAC still hasn't refunded all of its donors.
The Make America Great Again PAC was created on July 1, and its first donation was $100k given by Seryl Kushner, Kushner Cos CEO Jared Kushner’s mother, The Real Deal reports. A few days later Phil Ruffin, a billionaire casino mogul and one of Trump’s close friends, chipped in $1M.
But seeing as you can’t exactly have a super PAC while claiming to be entirely self-funded, the Trump camp sent out letters on Oct. 18 to nine super PACs, including the one in question, instructing them to refund all money received. And while some donors have gotten their money back, including Ruffin, as of Dec. 31 members of several prominent NYC families, including Dezer and Adjmi, had yet to be refunded. [TRD]
