Financing The Donald: Trump Turns To NYC Real Estate Pals For Cash

Donald Trump is beginning to raise funds for a general election battle against Hillary Clinton, and he’s looking to his NYC real estate buddies for help.

Trump hopes Richard LeFrak and Howard Lorber will pitch in some cash, along with the current and former CEOs of Vornado, Steve Roth and Michael Fascitelli, Bloomberg reports. And he’s going to need it, despite his own comments that he doesn’t even need half of $1B to win the White House—over the last three weeks alone Clinton’s main super PAC spent $5.7M on advertising attacks against the real estate mogul.

So far no Trump super PAC has emerged as his dominant fundraising machine, although his supporters are advancing plans for several. [Bloomberg]
