Following a White House report that said artificial intelligence is almost certain to destroy millions of U.S. jobs, a new PwC report said 38% of U.S. jobs are at high risk of being eliminated by a robot.
PwC said U.S. jobs are more at risk than other countries because a high portion of American jobs do not require much education or expertise, CNNMoney reports; only 30% of UK-based jobs and 21% of jobs in Japan are at risk of extermination due to automation within the next 15 years.
PwC’s report comes at a time when some of China’s largest manufacturers are looking to the U.S. to relieve some of their manufacturing concerns by ramping up technologically advanced and highly automated factories in America.
