Jamba Juice Drops 'Juice' From Name, To Open Combo Stores With Auntie Anne's

Two longtime staples of mall food courts across the country are joining forces in non-mall locations.

Jamba, which changed its name from Jamba Juice in June, will begin to open shared stores with Auntie Anne's Pretzels in the coming months, CoStar reports. Focus Brands owns both concepts, which account for 2,600 locations between them — 1,800 for Auntie Anne's and 800 for Jamba.

Focus franchisee SE Co-Brand Ventures, led by Dustin King, is the first to open dual Jamba/Auntie Anne's locations, CoStar reports. The first four are currently operating in Nashville, Tennessee; Concord and Pineville, North Carolina; and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

King's family already owned 35 franchises under Focus Brands' umbrella, made up of Auntie Anne's, Moe's Southwest Grill, Carvel, Cinnabon, McAlister's Deli and Jamba, which Focus purchased last year. SE Co-Brand Ventures' latest deal is for 16 locations, most of which will likely be the new hybrid model, CoStar reports.

Jamba is in the process of revamping all of its stores, whether or not they share space with Auntie Anne's, to reflect the new, broader array of items they sell. Health-focused bowls now share top billing with juices and smoothies.
