Last night, we headed to National Harbor to hit up a few BOMA International Conference & Expo after-parties on the banks of the Potomac River. It included the Totally '80s Dance Party hosted by BOMA Cornerstone Partners AlliedBarton, DIRECTV, Kimberly-Clark Professional, thyssenkrupp and Yardi Systems at The Sunset Room. There, we snapped thyssenkrupp's Joel Wooley and Jonathan Heckmann, Holt Lunsford Commercial's Scott Moore, and BOMA/Dallas' Alyssa Trongaard and Teresa Foster.

Magician Michael Cantori shows Sequoia Waste Solutions' Brian Dolan, Charlie Dolan and Luke Panza that the card they picked—the Queen of Hearts—was indeed not in the pile, but in his pocket. (And let's not forget it's also an awesome '80s hit by Juice Newton.)
One thing we wish were magic is trash removal—but at least Sequoia makes it seem that way. The firm works with medium and large property management companies to streamline their waste removal processes by managing the contracts, customer service, price negotiation and reporting. It has also developed a handy mobile app for clients. Brian tells us architects are increasingly engaging the company early in the design process to help make sure that waste removal areas are incorporated into the most effective building locations.

Getting into the spirit were CIM Group's Nancy Tyson and Paramount Group's Janet Bloom, two of the many attendees who donned their best outfits from the decade and danced the night away to live music from The Reagan Years. The '80s tribute band played an eclectic mix of pop, rock, new wave and metal hits; we snapped the duo after an energetic rendition of Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer."
